Returning to Live, In-Person Concerts — Autumn 2021

Chamber Choir Ireland returns this Autumn for a season of live, in-person concerts, starting with Music from the Four Corners of the Earth, as part of the National Concert Hall’s 40th Anniversary season, Refractions. Led by Paul Hillier, Chamber Choir Ireland will take audiences on a trip across the world, from the United States of America to Australia, Ukraine, and Brazil. The concert, featuring a globetrotting programme of works by Aaron Copland, Ross Edwards, Dmitry Bortniansky, and Heitor Villa-Lobos, takes place on Sunday 26th September at the National Concert Hall.

In October, the singers of Chamber Choir Ireland will take on the role of a Greek chorus, performing Andrea Gabrieli’s music for Sophocles’ masterpiece, Oedipus Rex (Edipo Tiranno). This concert, offering all the best of ancient Greek storytelling and Italian Renaissance music, takes place in All Hallows Chapel, Drumcondra on Sunday 10th October.

Guest conductor Nils Schweckendiek, Artistic Director of the Helsinki Chamber Choir, joins Chamber Choir Ireland in November for SOUL PEACE. Schweckendiek will lead the choir in a programme featuring works by Paul Hindemith, Eugene Birman, Ina Boyle, Amanda Feery, and Amy Beach. The concert will take place in All Hallows Chapel on Friday 12th November at 8pm.

We are delighted to once again welcome live, in-person audiences to hear Chamber Choir Ireland perform a diverse range of engaging and inspiring music in the coming months.
