2017

What’s next?

It’s been a little quiet for us while we get all the details together for an exciting programme of concerts over the next twelve months, but we’re nearly there!

Up next we’re back in Cork for our residency at the Cork International Choral Festival in May where we mark the 150th Anniversary of Yeats’ birth with a brand new commission by Ian Wilson.  Slouching Towards Bethlehem sets the texts of two of Yeats’ so-called ‘Apocalyptic’ texts and will be premiered at the Festival Gala concert on Friday 1st May at 7.30pm in St Fin Barre’s Cathedral.  Full details of the programme and booking details can be found here: Slouching Towards Bethlehem

Then we’re back to Dublin on Saturday 2nd May with a slightly different take on the Cork programme.  performing American shaker and fuging songs, and a wonderful setting of an Emily Dickinson text by Elliott Carter, Musicians Wrestle Everywhere.  Full booking details can be found here: Musicians Wrestle Everywhere

In June, we’ve 2 performances of a programme of entertainments and glees featuring just the gentlemen of Chamber Choir Ireland.  Full details: Glee

And we’re delighted to announce that we’ll join with Camerata Kilkenny in August for a unique collaboration with the Kilkenny Arts Festival in their all-encompassing insight into the music of JS Bach performing the magnificent b-minor Mass on Saturday 8th August in St Canice’s Cathedral.  Full booking details are here: Bach: Kilkenny Arts Festival

That’s just for starters…from September we’ll have music by Machaut and Hildegard von Bingen with the ladies of Chamber Choir Ireland, a celebration of a very special birthday: Arvo Pärt at 80 in Dublin, Belfast and Cork, and some glorious carols at Christmas.  Further details will be announced shortly.
